Maybelline Fit Me Matte + Poreless Foundation

Maybelline Fit Me Matte + Poreless Foundation

Today I am coming to you with a review of the new Maybelline Fit Me Matte + Poreless Foundation!

I've never tried the original Maybelline Fit Me foundation as I've heard that it was labelled by many as a horrible foundation but some people still loved it. The new Maybelline Fit Me Matte + Poreless foundation was recently released in Australia (as we are always the last ones to receive anything) and I decided to pick it up while it was on sale at my local supermarket.

On their website, it claims to be an ' ultra-lightweight foundation
that contains micro-powders that absorb oil for a matte and poreless-looking finish. Unique formula goes beyond matching just skin tone and also matches the texture of normal to oily skin for the ultimate natural fit. Dermatologist and allergy tested, this mattifying foundation does not clog pores and is oil-free'

There are currently 24 shades available in the US and only 6 shades available in Australia. The lightest shade in the range is 110 (Porcelain) and the darkest shade is 360 (Mocha).

I was quite intrigued by the idea of a foundation that matches to your skin tone, but the only problem with foundations for me is that I have very oily skin - usually any foundation that claims to be matte doesn't seem to work on me and within a few hours I will need touch up by applying more powder which makes my face very cakey. I am always on the hunt for a 'holy grail' foundation.

I have two shades, 120 (Classic Ivory) and 220 (Natural Beige). I find that Natural Beige is too dark for me at this stage since we are heading into winter in Australia, and Classic Ivory is a little too light so mixing these two works perfectly to match my skin tone.

The formula of this foundation is a liquid and it has light to medium coverage. It contains no SPF so it's best to wear some form of moisturiser with sunscreen underneath. The downside to this product is that it has no pump so you can't control the amount that comes out of the bottle unfortunately.

Now for the review;
So far I like it, I've been wearing it for the last two weeks and it does a good job of covering up my uneven skin tone but I find that I still need to use concealer as this foundation is not full coverage. I find that I still have to touch up after about 5 hours but it certainly does a good job at keeping my skin matte. Even though I have oily skin, this foundation does tend to accentuate my dry spots so I suggest moisturising your face before applying it.

So far I am impressed with this product. It's definitely a must try for all my oily girls out there! Have you tried it? What are your thoughts on this foundation?

Sunday at the footy!

Sunday adventures at the footy at Etihad stadium ♡

On Sunday, my boyfriend and I went to the AFL match between Carlton vs Port Adelaide. We decided to head on over to the sports bar and grab a meal before heading to our allocated seating to watch the game ☆

Mimco Secret Couch - Review + My essentials!

Hey guys!

Sorry its been a very long time since I posted on my blog. I do apologise, i've been so busy with assignments and birthday events! I am now back and today I have a review of the Mimco Secret Couch hip bag + a look at what are my essentials when i'm going out.

Mimco is an Australian designer brand and they strive to be affordable and also fashionable and trendy at the same time.
The items usually retail for around $50 (cheapest) to around $500 (most expensive) to give you a rough idea.

Mimco small pouch: RRP: $69.95 AUD

I purchased this Mimco Secret Couch bag in gold and it retails for RRP: $199 AUD.
Pretty hefty price for a small bag right? But it is made of genuine cow leather and distressed buffalo leather. It has one internal pocket to fit your phone but since I have an iPhone 6S, sadly it will not fit.
It also has a zipped compartment to store any extra cash or cards etc. It is a duo pouch, meaning that there are 2 separate larger compartments to fit all your essentials in. I keep my phone, keys, Mimco pouch (RRP: $69.95 AUD), my lip balm, lipstick, mascara and a travel sized perfume bottle.

The size of the bag is :
Height: 15cm
Width: 20.5cm
Diameter: 4cm

This a great little investment for those who want a designer bag, but don't want to take the plunge into the more well known expensive designer brands such as Louis Vuitton and Chanel. Overall this is the perfect size to hold all my essentials with more room to spare!

Happy shopping!

Current Skincare Routine!

Hey loves!

Here is my current skincare routine. I've finally found something that works for me!
Here is a run down of what my skin is like:

  • My skin type is oily/combination with breakouts here and there
  • I have a bit of acne scarring
  • I have sensitive skin
  • During winter the weather takes a toll on my skin and I get dry patches on my face

As my previous post states, I have been using a brand called Sukin. Here are my favourite products from their line:

First I start off with cleansing my face and I use the facial scrub about 3 times a week to exfoliate my skin.

Sukin Revitalising Facial Scrub - RRP: $9.99 AUD

If i'm not using the scrub, I will use either Lush's Angel on Bare Skin cleanser or the Sukin Foaming Facial Cleanser.
Lush's Angel on Bare Skin Cleanser - RRP: $17.50 AUD

Sukin Foaming Facial Cleanser - RRP: $11.94 AUD

Afterwards I will follow up with my trusty Witch Hazel by T.N. Dickinsons. I use it as a toner and this stuff is amazing! If you haven't tried it before, I definitely recommend that you do! This works wonders on smoothing out your pores and it's refreshing on your skin.

T.N. Dickinsons Witch Hazel - RRP: $6.59 AUD

For any breakouts on my face I use Lush's Grease Lightning Spot Treatment which is a life saver! I put this on any breakouts after cleansing and toning and leave it on overnight and tada! Breakouts instantly appear smaller.

Lush's Grease Lightning - RRP: $13.95 AUD

Then it's time to moisturise. Even though I have oily skin, my t-zone area tends to get dry so moisturising is a must! Lately i've been using the original Sukin's Facial Moisturiser and I will mix that with their certified organic Rosehip Oil. I mix about 2 drops with the moisturiser and apply to my face. I am still trialling the Rosehip oil and I will post an update soon!

Sukin Facial Moisturiser - RRP: $11.94 AUD

Sukin Certified Organic Rosehip Oil - RRP: $32.99 AUD

Finally, I will apply some sort of under eye cream since I struggle to get enough sleep. I use Sukin's Antioxidant Eye Serum.

Sukin Antioxidant Eye Serum - RRP: $19.99 AUD

If you try these products out, let me know! Anna XOXO

New Holy Grail Skincare Products!

So I've been on the hunt for a new skincare line that is affordable and vegan and I recently came across a new skincare line that is available at Priceline stores across Australia and I'm in love with their products and I thought i'd share them with you!

The brand is called Sukin and they are an Australian Based company!

They are vegan, no animal testing, no parabens, no SLS, no harsh detergents and 100% carbon neutral.

They are very affordable with the products ranging from anywhere between $7.00 to $25.00 AUD. They are currently stocked in Priceline and they also have an online store but they currently state that delivery is only available in Australia at the moment but for those wondering about international orders you can contact them at info@sukinorganics.com.

Let me know what you think of this brand!
